Kaluppâ is a Learning Site for Agriculture
As an LSA certified by the ATI*, we serve as a venue for training and other extension services like practical and hands-on learning for immediate application.
A Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA) is an innovative extension modality conceptualized by the Agricultural Training Institute where farmers worthy of emulation and willing to share their technologies right in their own farms will be partners in the implementation of training and extension interventions particularly for hands-on training or on-the-job instruction to complement classroom instruction.

The Kaluppâ Integrated Farm is an emerging agricultural enterprise dedicated to producing fresh vegetables and fruit crops for households and communities within the municipality of Santa Cruz, and when possible, for markets outside the province, including NCR. Our work is supported by a team of in-house farmers and skilled farm school trainers who ensure that our production systems remain efficient, safe, and aligned with best practices. We are committed to improving both food quality and nutritional value for the communities we serve.
In late 2022, we established a 60 sqm plant nursery devoted to raising vegetable seedlings and fruit-bearing tree propagules. This nursery also serves as the primary training venue for “Perform Nursery Operations”, a key component of our TESDA-accredited Agricultural Crops Production NC II program.
By the second quarter of 2023, we expanded our production area with the creation of a 1,000 sqm hilly vegetable farm, cultivating eggplant, cucumber, bitter gourd, string beans, ginger, turmeric, and other diversified crops. A few months later, we added a 500 sqm demonstration farm adjacent to the nursery and farm school facilities to support hands-on learning, skills training, and actual crop production.
As we continue to strengthen our agricultural initiatives, we also confront natural challenges such as El Niño and periods of extreme heat. Overcoming these obstacles brings us closer to our vision of becoming a more resilient and sustainable farm, capable of supporting community food security, agricultural education, and rural development.
Empowering Communities Through Sustainable Farming and Skills Development
Kaluppâ Foundation’s Agricultural Initiatives strengthen food security, livelihood opportunities, and sustainable farming practices across our partner communities. At the heart of our work is a commitment to developing farmers, youth, and households through practical skills training, demonstration-based learning, and scalable agricultural technologies.
Our TESDA‑registered agricultural demonstration farm serves as the main hands‑on training ground for learners preparing for formal farm-based training and national certification. Designed to reflect real smallholder farm conditions, it allows students to experience the full cycle of crop production—from soil preparation and nursery work to crop care, management, and harvesting.
Through structured practical lessons and close supervision, trainees develop confidence, competence, and employable skills for farming, agriventure creation, or further agricultural studies. The demo farm also doubles as a community learning hub, showcasing best practices in crop diversification, integrated pest management, and sustainable farm operations.
Kaluppâ manages a two‑hectare coffee plantation designed to nurture 2,000 coffee plants using sustainable and climate‑resilient methods. This long‑term initiative supports the province’s growing interest in specialty coffee, agroforestry systems, and value‑adding livelihood opportunities for rural communities.
Beyond production, the plantation serves as a training site where learners and community members gain practical skills in coffee establishment, care, maintenance, harvesting, and post‑harvest handling—building foundations for future enterprises in local coffee processing and marketing. With its focus on soil health, shade management, and biodiversity‑friendly practices, the plantation contributes both to livelihood creation and landscape restoration.
Our Community-Based Agriculture Technology Programs bring practical, accessible, and low-cost farming solutions directly to households, smallholder farmers, and local producers. These programs focus on regenerative and organic technologies such as vermicomposting, composting, organic fertilizer production, garden soil enhancement, and other sustainable inputs that strengthen soil fertility and reduce dependency on synthetic materials.
Through onsite trainings, barangay-based workshops, and technology demonstrations, participants gain the skills to produce their own organic inputs, reduce farm expenses, improve crop yield, and adopt eco-friendly practices suited for both backyard gardening and larger farm settings. These initiatives help create more resilient communities capable of sustaining their own food systems while contributing to environmental restoration.
Since 2023, Kaluppâ Foundation welcomes TVL‑Agriculture students from rural and far‑flung communities into our Work Immersion Program, giving them hands-on experience in agricultural production, crop care, and farm management right in our integrated farm . This initiative strengthens our commitment to opening real opportunities for young people in the countryside and supporting their journey toward meaningful, future-ready agricultural careers.
In strong partnerships with DepEd Marinduque and senior high schools across the province, we continue our shared pursuit of quality education and accessible training for all learners. Together, we look forward to seeing these young men and women grow in confidence, skill, and purpose.
Our practical Agribusiness Workshop equips learners with essential skills in market assessment, production planning, pricing, budgeting, and value chain awareness. Designed for farmers, youth, and aspiring entrepreneurs, the program simplifies farm business and marketing concepts—helping participants understand how products move from production to market and how profits are created.
Beyond knowledge-building, the workshop strengthens confidence through hands-on exercises in costing, sales strategies, and basic business planning. Participants learn to make informed decisions, reduce financial risks, and develop practical enterprise ideas suited to local communities. Our goal is to empower learners to turn their skills and resources into sustainable livelihood opportunities.
The Kaluppâ SOIL (Sustainable Organic Innovation and Learning) Facility is a planned expansion that will scale our current vermicomposting operations into a larger center for organic fertilizer production and sustainable waste management. By transforming organic waste into compost, vermicast, and vermi‑tea, the facility will provide farmers with affordable, nutrient‑rich inputs while reducing dependence on chemical fertilizers. This initiative is shaped by consultations with local farmers and partners such as DA-ATI, BSWM, Gabutero Organic Farm, and TESDA.
The facility will serve as a community learning hub for vermiculture, regenerative farming, and sustainable agriculture. Supported by BSWM’s SSCF and CFBW programs, it will create new livelihood opportunities, strengthen soil health, and advance environmentally responsible farming across Marinduque. As a forward-looking initiative, the SOIL Facility reflects Kaluppâ’s long-term commitment to sustainability, resilience, and community empowerment.
Support Kaluppâ Foundation as we strengthen farmer training, expand community-based AgriTech programs, and develop future facilities like the Kaluppâ SOIL Facility. Your partnership can help us scale organic fertilizer production, enhance regenerative farming technologies, and bring hands-on agricultural education to more communities.
We welcome collaborations and funding support from agencies, organizations, companies, and individuals who share our commitment to food security, livelihood development, and climate resilient agriculture. Together, we can build healthier soils, stronger farmers, and a more sustainable Marinduque.
