Kaluppâ Foundation leads initiatives in partnership with government agencies, NGOs, advocates, and donors to address social and economic challenges, promote inclusivity and diversity, and empower local communities to take meaningful action.
These community-based, area-specific, and demand-driven programs strengthen local capacities, nurture shared responsibility, and create pathways for social change—one community at a time.
Supporting UN Sustainable Development Goals
Community-based trainings are learning programs designed and delivered within the communities they aim to serve. They are built around the lived experiences, existing capacities, and local priorities of households, farmers, women, youth, and community groups, ensuring that skills gained are relevant, practical, and immediately usable.
By anchoring the trainings in the community itself, participants learn in familiar environments, collaborate with neighbors, and strengthen connections that lead to shared problem-solving and collective growth. This approach supports inclusive participation, especially for those who may have limited access to traditional training centers.

Kaluppâ’s model designs and delivers training within the communities served—anchored on lived experiences, existing capacities, and local priorities of households, farmers, women, youth, and community groups. This enables immediate application, strengthens neighbor-to-neighbor collaboration, and expands access for participants with limited mobility or resources.

From 2023–2025, Kaluppâ Foundation delivered a multi-sector portfolio of community-based, area-specific, and demand-driven trainings that strengthened local capacities, advanced inclusive participation, and created tangible environmental and livelihood outcomes across Marinduque.
Programs spanned environment & biodiversity, agriculture, heritage-based livelihoods, digital literacy, hospitality & service, women’s economic empowerment, and youth leadership, implemented directly within barangays and in partnership with national agencies, LGUs, NGOs, and private sector allies.
Together, these efforts demonstrate a three-year grassroots development, not just isolated trainings, grounded in local knowledge, measurable outputs, and community ownership.
5,200+ native tree seedlings and trees collected and planted across multiple stewardship events, supported by 311 volunteers as of 2025.
14 flagship training streams ranging from agroforestry, coffee, and vermicomposting, to barista calibration, bangus deboning, soap making for women and solo parents, and SHS work immersion in crops care.
Strong partner ecosystem (DepEd, TESDA, DTI, DENR, Rotary/Inner Wheel, KKDAT/PNP, local cafés, community weavers, Minerva’s Integrated Farm) enabling scale, relevance, and continuity.
Native Tree Propagation & Environmental Stewardship — multi-event initiative (e.g., Puno Para sa Kinabukasan, Luntiang Kapaligiran, DTI–DENR plantings) resulting in 5,200+ seedlings and trees collected/transplanted; 311 volunteers engaged as of 2025; species include narra, talisay, bamboo, and fruit-bearing varieties.
Basket Weaving with Master Weaver Lola Angela Real — heritage-based craft integrated as an add-on to Agricultural Crops Production NC II; revives indigenous basketry as cultural identity and income source.
HABILIN NG NIPA (Pawid Craft Revival) — hands-on weaving activity in Brgy. Tawiran that reintroduced participants to nipa shingle (pawid) production, linking cultural heritage to sustainable, accessible livelihoods.
Digital Literacy Training — bridging the digital divide for families, farmers, and youth—covering online safety and productivity tools to access education, markets, and jobs.
Work Immersion in Crops Care & Maintenance (DepEd) — Senior High School immersion on horticulture, crop care, and nursery operations—translating classroom concepts into real field competencies and graduation requirements.
Organic Fertilizer Production & Vermicomposting — ‘Galing sa Basura, Ginto sa Bukid’ with Rotary Clubs & Minerva’s Integrated Farm; select trainees receive free vermicast and Certificates of Training.
Bangus Deboning with Flavoring & Food Safety — one-day livelihood training led by Boakeñong Kusinero 2022 Grand Champion Rodeneil M. Agubang; 28 completers equipped with straight forceps to start production immediately.
Advanced Barista Training: Machine Calibration & Latte Art — with industry experts Roland Cabales and Ron Peter Orian Pabellon; complements TESDA-accredited Barista NC II.
Advanced Coffee Series: Coffee Bootcamp — agroforestry-based coffee farming with Farm to Cup PH, DTI Marinduque, and TESDA Marinduque.
Customer Service Training for Baristas (Barista Career Series) — soft-skills clinic led by Sir Kevin Kim Nombrefia (Brewista Coffee PH).
Introduction to Basic Agronomy for SHS — agriculture enhancement for Senior High School learners in the Tech-Voc track.
Soap-Making for Women & Solo Parents — two-day workshop for women—mostly solo parents and 4Ps members—producing market-ready dishwashing liquid.
KKDAT Kabataan Youth Camp — values-centered youth leadership and community responsibility camp with KKDAT Sta. Cruz and PNP Sta. Cruz.
Rainwater Catchment System for Nutrition & Sustainability with Rotary Club of Metro Valenzuela, Inner Wheel Club of Metro Valenzuela, and Rotary Club of Marinduque North; installed a Rainwater Catcher System under ‘TUBIG-ULAN, GAMIT SA PAARALAN’ to support gardening, cleaning, and sanitation, and to sustain school gardens for feeding and nutrition education.
5,200+ seedlings/trees collected, transplanted, and planted (narra, talisay, bamboo, fruit-bearing) across multiple events and partnerships—building biodiversity and climate resilience.
311 volunteers mobilized as of 2025—cultivating a culture of shared environmental responsibility and sustained action.
Rainwater Catchment at Matalaba ES provides reliable non-potable water for gardening, cleaning, and sanitation, reducing dependence on costly or unreliable sources.
Sustained school gardens enhance feeding programs and nutrition education—linking environmental stewardship to child health outcomes.
Bangus deboning trained 28 participants, providing tools for immediate livelihood uptake.
Soap-making empowered 26 women (mostly solo parents/4Ps) with a low-capital, market-ready product and entrepreneurship skills.
Basket weaving & pawid craft revived heritage skills that are locally sourced, culturally resonant, and income-enabling.
Vermicomposting created localized supply of nutrient-rich inputs, reducing fertilizer costs and waste while boosting soil health; select trainees received free vermicast and Certificates of Training.
Agronomy & SHS work immersion aligned school learning with field practice, enhancing work readiness in horticulture and nursery operations.
Coffee bootcamp advanced agroforestry-based coffee knowledge with DTI/TESDA/private partners—laying groundwork for a stronger island coffee value chain.
Advanced barista calibration and customer service upskilled local café workers, complementing TESDA Barista NC II and raising service quality across the island.
KKDAT Youth Camp 2025 reinforced values, leadership, and civic action—youth as multipliers for peace, safety, and community service.
